Ultram
Withdrawal
Ultram withdrawal comprises severe symptoms when abrupt cessation occurs after prolonged use.
“A sudden discontinued supply of opiates
will cause often unbearable withdrawal symptoms including
irritability, profuse sweating, abdominal cramping
and diarrhea,” states detoxification anesthesiologist,
Dr. Clifford A. Bernstein, M.D. “This agonizing
withdrawal is the reason most of those with dependencies
cannot stop taking the drugs.”
Ultram ® is a narcotic-like, synthetic painkiller
similar to opiate drugs. Although it delivers less narcotic
effect and dependence liability than opiates, product
information warns Ultram ® “may induce psychological
and physical dependence of the morphine-type”.
Dependent patients who experience withdrawal
when they discontinue using Ultram ® will
find that Ultram withdrawal symptoms match those
of narcotic opiate medication.
When discontinued abruptly, the effects of
Ultram withdrawal often include:
- Anxiety
- Diarrhea
- Goose bumps (piloerection)
- Hallucinations (occurs rarely)
- Insomnia
- Nausea
- Pain
- Rigors (fever chills)
- Sweating
- Tremors
- Upper respiratory symptoms.
Additional withdrawal symptoms typical of prolonged
opiate use may also occur, including:
- Aches and pains
- Cold- or flu-like symptoms
- Headaches
- Loss of appetite
- Mood swings
- Sleep difficulties
In addition to treating acute or chronic pain and
mood disorders, tramadol knows some recreational drug
use due to its euphoric effect similar to that of opioids.
However, Ultram’s potency is not as intense.
The likelihood of overdose symptoms (convulsions) also
makes it dangerous for unsupervised, non-medical
use. Higher than normal therapeutic doses can cause
seizures, which may explain its limited use as street
drug. High doses also affect sleep patterns.
Ultram ® also lessens the withdrawal symptoms of more
addictive opiates (like hydrocodone or oxycodone),
since its degree of usage can be more easily lowered.
Withdrawal from any prescription medicine—and
especially opiate-based ones — poses a difficult
process. Ultram withdrawal, specifically—like
overdose — can cause damage to the lungs, heart,
brain, liver and kidneys. Please note that health-compromised
patients, because of their drug dependency and
overuse, may also risk an agonizing, or sometimes
fatal, withdrawal if not supervised by experienced
medical professionals.
Only safe and responsible detoxification combined
with the latest medical technology can decrease the
associated risks of Ultram withdrawal. The majority
of conventional detoxification procedures use older
protocol that may inflict patients with an unwarranted,
dangerous, and painful withdrawal syndrome.
We consider painful Ultram withdrawal as avoidable,
and Ultram dependency as both treatable and reversible. The
Waismann Method of Rapid Detoxification is effective,
dignified, safe and humane.
